Pod označením Sapphire HD 7700 se skrývá nová řada grafických karet zaměřených na nadšence, kteří si přejí nižší cenu, i běžné uživatele, kteří požadují výkonnější grafiku. Vychází z druhé rodiny grafických procesorů od AMD, která se vyznačuje 28nm procesem a vysoce ceněnou architekturou grafického zpracování GCN.
Řada Sapphire HD 7700 je připravena na DirectX 11.1 a nový operační systém Windows 8, přičemž nabízí DirectCompute11, komunikaci mnoha podprocesů s procesorem a všechny další funkce současného standardu DirectX 11. Komunikace s hostitelským počítačem je optimalizována pomocí nejnovějšího vysokorychlostního rozhraní PCI-Express Gen3.0. Na základní desce odpovídajících parametrů lze také v režimu CrossFireX použít více karet k dalšímu zvýšení výkonu.
Práce nebo hraní her na více monitorech je stále oblíbenější, což řada SAPPHIRE HD 7700 podporuje pomocí režimu AMD Eyefinity, který se dočkal už druhé generace. Díky výstupům, které obsahují dvoukanálový DVI, HDMI a 2x mini-DisplayPort, zvládají modely HD 7770 až 6 současně připojených monitorů.
V řadě HD 7000 se zlepšily i technické parametry rozhraní HDMI. Rychlý HDMI 1.4a podporuje stereoskopické 3D s vyšší rychlostí snímků 60 Hz odděleně pro každé oko, tedy celkem 120 Hz. Karta je také připravena pro další generaci 4K displejů, které mohou dostávat signál z jediného vysokorychlostního vstupu 3 GHz HDMI 1.4a nebo DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2.
Technologie APP Acceleration znamená lepší výkon pro širokou škálu aplikací pomocí stream procesorů a specifických hardwarových prvků v architektuře grafiky. Řada HD 7000 byla pro tento typ úkolu optimalizována. Mezi typické aplikace patří kódování a dekódování videa, komprese a multiplex při distribuci médií, hraní her nebo videokonferencích. APP Acceleration může zlepšit i každodenní úkoly jako prohlížení internetových stránek, kancelářské aplikace a komprese souborů s podporovanými sadami softwaru.
