HP Secure Print creates secure print workflows by forcing user authentication at printers and multifunction printers (MFPs). Employees quickly authenticate themselves at a chosen printer by using their mobile device, their ID badge (proximity card), or by entering their email and PIN or user ID and password into the printer's control panel. Documents are then released only to the document owner, which protects confidentiality. Because employees must be physically present at a printer to authenticate and collect their document, the solution practically eliminates the problem of abandoned prints - documents that are left in printer trays or tossed into recycle bins. This saves money and prevents waste. This workflow also improves convenience: employees can submit their print jobs from any location, even outside the company network, and then release their documents at any secure printer on the network.
