The large buttons are illuminated and clearly labeled to ensure good legibility. You can save particularly important contacts, such as people to call in case of an emergency, on one of the two repertory keys (A and B). The direct call function is useful if you only want to be able to call one number from the phone. In difficult situations, you can then press any button and the number you have stored will be dialed.
• Large font, perfect contrast
  It's easy to lose your place in a phone number, especially when it's very long. Not with the Gigaset E290, though, since you can configure its large, illuminated display to your preferred contrast ratio to ensure optimum legibility. In jumbo mode, all digits you dial appear extra large. The menu is also extremely easy to navigate, thanks to single-icon mode, in which one symbol is shown per page on the display.
