Markit’s 2020 Performance – 5 Key Results In a recent post we described Markit’s key activities and positive highlights from 2020 - in this one we look at Markit’s 2020 performance in actual results. For context, 2020 saw significant growth in B2C e-commerce (15.5%) and general B2B e-commerce lifted 4.2%. Markit’s most comparable sector is defined as Corporate B2B – and this showed no growth, or decline, in 2020. Markit’s revenue grew 9.4%Markit’s 2020 financial results were very good, as we outperformed the European market average by more than 100% in the B2B e-commerce niche. As a result, we can confirm we have increased our market share during a particularly challenging year.5 Key Results from 2020 Sales revenue was up almost ten percent: +9.4% increase to 122.6 million euros - from 112.1 million euros in 2019. Revenue per employee (a sign of efficiency) was 950,000 euros - an increase of 9.4% Our international client base grew to 10,185 buying companies - an increase of 9.8% The number of unique IT products (hardware and accessories mostly) in our marketplace grew a whopping 29.2% and now stands at over 3.5 million (3,565,480 at the time of writing, to be precise). This makes Markit’s marketplace clearly the world’s largest single-supplier marketplace (not a broker model marketplace.).Our Net Promoter Score rose 4.6% to 66.9 (70 is considered a world class score) We could say more but it is more important to recognise that these impressive results, in such a challenging year, come from the consistent performance and helpful attitude from our team of 135 Markiteers and, of course, the vision and loyalty of thousands of fantastic Markit clients across 35 countries.
